Planting a Three Sisters Garden

Date: March 16, 2019 - 10:30 am

In this workshop for all ages, we will learn about the Native American tradition of the Three Sisters - corn, beans, and squash - and why they work so well together in the garden. We will discuss the importance of cooperation, compatibility, and getting along with each other (in the garden and in life). Participants will plant pots of corn, beans, and squash to bring home, along with some ideas for how to incorporate these into your summer garden. While this planting is more suitable to a large garden space, we will also discuss container and small space options. Families are encouraged to attend together. Individuals are also encouraged.
Cost is $5 per individual participant or $10 per family (1 or 2 adults with 1 or 2 children). Please contact Trinity Haymarket to pre-register so we will be prepared with enough supplies. or [email protected]
