About Us

Haymarket Tenets
Tenet 1

We believe in sound and humane husbandry of farm animals, starting with the highest quality of palatable and nutritious whole feeds.

Tenet 2

We support small-scale farming wherever it's found; urban, rural or in between.

Tenet 3

We call upon the best of age-old farming practices that reflect centuries of wisdom, skill and craftsmanship.

Tenet 4

We support and promote small farmers who choose to employ technologies appropriate to their scale; especially those who farm with draft animals.

Tenet 5

We endeavor to provide only grains and hays that have been grown and harvested without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides.

Tenet 6

We encourage and promote the cultivation of open-pollinated varieties of grain and hay, and furthermore, we believe that genetically modified organisms (GMO's) are incompatible with the Haymarket's philosophy.

Our Story

Dallas being our home, we established the Trinity Haymarket LLC here, in order to provide the area’s growing ranks of small-scale urban and backyard farmers with high quality whole-grain feeds, hard-to-find tools and specialty supplies that were unavailable in any store. Having raised poultry for decades and being beekeepers ourselves, we knew from experience what a challenge it was to obtain the provisions necessary to maintain a happy cottage farm in the city.

For us, genetically modified ingredients and unidentifiable animal byproducts in most of the available processed feeds were problematic. Hay and straw, when we could find them, were stale and poor quality. And always having to hunt down supplies and tools, usually out of state, became frustrating. We eventually decided that the best way to fill this need for ourselves and other local home farmers was to provide all of these products in one central location.

Like ourselves, more and more folks want to know how and where their food is raised. Many have chosen to participate firsthand in that process; some out of health concerns, some for ethical reasons, and some just because it’s a great lifestyle that’s a perfect fit for North Texas. Whether you tend a backyard flock of poultry or cultivate a few acres of grain; keep a hutch full of rabbits or maintain a couple of beehives as we do, the Trinity Haymarket is here to help you and your small farm thrive.
